The Racer's Common Knowledge

Picture
A racer just can't hope on their bike Day 1 and expect to win thir race on Day 2. Dirtbikes require hard wokr to train and to control these powerful machines. There are several dirtbike schools and camps in order to control their bike in hte most efficient manner. The Motorcycle Safety Foundation Dirtbike School is agreat place to learn the basic fundamentals of a dirtbike.
When actually on a bike a rider must have spectacular hand-foot coordnation.
While racing both your hands and feet will operate key bike functions
Your Left Hand controls the Clutch.
Your Right Hand operates both the Throttle and Front Brake.
Your Left Foot will shift gears.
Your Right Foot will control the Rear Brake.
Not only must they be a racer, but they must also be a mechanic. A dirtbike takes a lot of matienance to keep up with it. It's not like its a car where you get a maitenance check every some odd thousands of miles. You must inspect your bike after EVERY race. One race is about half a mile, one mile at the most. The bike's engine is like a baby is must be protected at all times.

A rider's first bike should be a used bike. New bikes right off of the showroom floor will run them an average of $7000. At the same a used dirtbike will run them approximately $1500. Not only is this coming from a financial stand point but also from a morale stand point. The rider won't be so bummed out when the flip their $1500 bike compared to their new $7000 showroom bike.
